International keynote speaker Paul Greenwood worked for 22 years as the San Diego County Deputy District Attorney and was the lead prosecutor of elder abuse cases. Since retiring from the role last year, Paul has become an expert witness, consultant and educator on elder abuse.
Paul has conducted extensive criminal prosecutions work for elder abuse crimes. He was involved in the prosecution of over 600 felony cases of both physical and financial abuse of older and dependent adults.
Paul served as the Co-chair of California’s District Attorney Elder Abuse Committee and helped draft elder abuse legislation for the California Evidence Code. He testified before the U.S. Senate Special Committee on Aging in 2001, 2007 and 2012.
Paul’s work has been recognised with numerous awards including the Visionary for Change Award at the 2005 San Diego Dementia Care Conference and the 2007 Professional Leadership Award from the Elder Financial Protection Network. He was inducted into the Elder Rights Advocacy Hall of Fame in 2011 by National Association of Legal Services Developers.
