Karen Williams is a Barrister and Manager of ADA Australia’s Human Rights Service Team.
Karen has long had an interest in providing advocacy for people whose capacity is being questioned, and educating service providers and health professionals on the importance of being able to apply the legislation in a way least restrictive of a person’s rights.
Karen is also interested in the interface between health, disability and legal/guardianship systems, in particular mental health and disability.
Published in 2018, Karen was co-editor of the Elder Law: A Guide to working with Older Australians book.
Karen was awarded the Excellence in Advocacy Award in the 2015 National Disability Awards.
